Today I was asked to print some documents for a student, on top of the about 4000 pages
printed this year.
I had a problem with the paper feed, my paper too smooth for the anchient page feeder.
While sorting the issue I opened the cups interface localhost:631 with my browser, went
to jobs page and found a huge history list.
There is no way to delete that complete printout history from cups, was apple forced to
do things that way for evidence preservation ?. No idea but I wanted the space freed up.
Deleting files in /var/spool/cups will remove the, in my case hundreds of entrys.
Pls remember after using the management interface of cups the entrys will, depending on
user settings, remain in browser cache until cleared.
On a system where security is more important and others can access the machine cups history
is probably a risk. Will see if I can figure out how to move that to temp.
