I need to re-install antiX to 64 bit version. Doing some homework reading first.
I want a traditional Linux HDD install on a 1Tb SATA drive.
How do I get that to happen with antiX? I’m thinking antiX-core and then `apt install’ what I need/want.Also, I confused about all the offerings on the antiX mirrors!
what is runit-buster and runit-sid? and plain old sid/ ? TIA--

::With an antiX-core install you will find yourself without X, only the commandline.
Core-installation is particularly recommended for experienced users.
Also with 1Tb harddrive there is no reason from this side to keep the installation small.AntiX-base is as the name says a basic installation. But it is missing a few things like the whole printing software for example, like cups and so on.
If you would like to have a system you just can enjoy without much additional work, a full installation might be a good idea.Sid is also recommended for experienced users, explained in short, it is not the stable version of debian.
Here is also a small overview
https://antixlinux.com/antix-19-3-manolis-glezos-bug-fix-upgrade-isos-available/Here are some words in the anouncement of the runit-release
This is an official version of antiX-19 and though it is stable, it is a bit of an experiment.
https://antixlinux.com/antix-19-runit-release/
Anyway, It’s been over a year now running quite stable. So a possibility for you would be
antiX-19.3_x64-full.iso
or
antiX-19.3_x64-base.isoor you take one of the runit-buster versions
antiX-19.3-runit_x64-full.iso
antiX-19.3-runit_x64-base.isoI know in the beginning it can be confusing, but hope this helps a little.

::Thanks for the info! Would you explain this “frugal” vs “persistence” thing?
I don’t want to run an OS off a USB stick or ram-drive. Is that what these
antiX terms are about?--

::No. Not necessarily. But both are separate from the traditional installation you said you are wanting.
I suggest to go with what caprea suggested, and run the installer on the desktop in the base and full versions.
Then learn more over time, as you want.
confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019

I don’t want to run an OS off a USB stick or ram-drive. Is that what these
antiX terms are about? No, frugal means to install the “live” to a hard drive location, not a ram disk. Traditionally, the “live” version of the operating system is booted from a removable media, like CD/DVD/USB. With frugal you can install the “live” OS to the hard drive and add the ability to boot to that frugal version from your hard drive boot loader.
Persistence has to do with preserving the changes you may make to the “live” OS in a file that can automatically update the “live” system with your ongoing changes (updates, home settings, new packages, etc.). Such a technique is not needed in a traditional “installed to hard drive” installation. In the hard drive install the changes are written directly and preserved in the standard linux file system.

what is runit-buster and runit-sid? and plain old sid/ ? TIAfind and download the latest version 19.3 FULL in 64-bit then create your Live DVD or Live USB from that ISO file and reboot from that Live system. Install that to your hard drive.
DO NOT use the Core version. It will not give you what you want. It is meant for “builders” who want to build up their own system from a bare bones starting point.
The “plain old” sid would be the current sid from Debian. Sid is an unstable version meant for testing, antiX is based on Debian and you should just start with the “plain old” antiX FULL 19.3 which is based on the STABLE version of Debian.
runit is an alternate initialization setup as opposed to the standard init system used in antiX which is SysInit. Just start with the standard antiX FULL and go from there. You will learn about those other options after you have got your feet wet in the standard antiX.
Again, the “standard” antiX is antiX 19.3 FULL. Use the 64-bit version. The 32-bit version is for older computers.
