Taking the following assumptions (my observations):
– Hannie Schaft 19.2 antiX became an excellent OS in the current version as long as some missing functionality is added on individual basis, such as SMB, Bluetooth, subjective aesthetics, etc…
– Evolving or supplementing with a full DE has been abandoned by antiX project owner due to time and resource constraints.
– Development Team appears to be relatively small. Is there a plan, or just a vision of next milestone in antiX evolution?
Not to be misunderstood, antiX is so good as it is that it makes it difficult to implement significant version difference without a decisive change, such as DE….
Just my two cents, not necessarily expecting answers…Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

::I do not know if there is any vision statement for future releases or not, but we have had a general mission statement for some time, and that is fairly well stated on the page : https://antixlinux.com/the-most-extensive-live-usb-on-the-planet/
There are examples and images that explain the current strategy.
From DistroWatch:
antiX is a fast, lightweight and easy-to-install Linux live CD distribution based on Debian’s “Stable” branch for x86 compatible systems. antiX offers users the “antiX Magic” in an environment suitable for old computers. The goal of antiX is to provide a light, but fully functional and flexible free operating system for both newcomers and experienced users of Linux. It should run on most computers, ranging from 256 MB old PIII systems with pre-configured swap to the latest powerful boxes. 256 MB RAM is recommended minimum for antiX. The installer needs minimum 2.7 GB hard disk size. antiX can also be used as a fast-booting rescue CD, or run “live” on a USB stick, with or without persistent file storage.--

Thanks for some insight as far as existing strategy is concerned. This was my understanding that goal of antiX was such as described when such statement was published.
This past statement of intent for antiX has been accomplished and hopefully will be continued along the same strategy for a long time but antiX in that respect is almost perfect, so would be interesting what major changes are ahead.
I just want to mention on the heels of your quote however that DistroWatch is not an authority to rely on. Many times it proved to be biased towards more influential distros, unnecessarily leaving antiX behind for linux-political reasons…
Thanks again and regards…Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

::The Distrowatch entry is just a statement from the developers of the distro. The “authority” is the distro itself. And we all know that it’s a just a review site not an authority. Opinion pieces are valuable in that they highlight an opinion. We all make what we want from that.
As far as antiX’s future goes, I would think it will continue to be what the developers want it to be. That’t the beauty of Linux. It doesn’t HAVE to be anything. And it CAN be anything you want. antiX is a fantastic base for a lot of things. As more people find it they will make it work the way they need it to work. A lot of what is “new” and a “change” is under the hood. The LiveUSB features are powerful and unmatched.
