::Very nice and clean desktop, manyroads. Thanks for sharing.
Do all Fvwm3 windows have the window toolbar on the side instead of on top or is that only for some apps that work better that way?
I think I could also set it up that way in fluxbox, but I have difficulty reading window titles at an angle, so I didn’t use it much.antiX Live system enthusiast.

::@xecure… You are able to place the window bars where you want and also turn them off for particular apps. The menuin the middle of my screenshot is rofi (you’ll note I turned the window bar off for rofi).
For any who are interested, here is a tutorial I published on Fvwm3.

::I just happened to come upon this thread again today and it brought back historical memories of my first use of Linux software in 1995: Slackware. The particular instance I used came from a book and it talked about fvwm. I don’t remember if it was fvwm95 or not, but that’s quite possible. I’ve definitely used fvwm-crystal many times in the past, but I’m not sure if they had that variation with Slackware that long ago or not.
What IS interesting about fvwm-crystal is that it’s about the lightest, fastest custom window manager that really blurs the boundaries between a window manager and a desktop environment, because the complete environment is definitely a superset of fvwm.
Another tidbit I found interesting when doing a bit of prep research today on Wikipedia is that xfwm and many other window managers derive features from fvwm, so like it or not, both fvwm and its minimally capable predecessor, twm, form the basis for a lot of the current generation of window managers.
You can read more, should you be interested, over at Wikipedia/FVWM
