For information to translators, a developer has put a new file at Transifex.
It’s called “gazelle-installer” (project Anticapitalista-antix)

::I seems to be an informative message for when the installer finds multiple subvolumes with the same label, and then forces you back to edit the volume label. So it would be an adjective.
“We have found duplicate subvolume labels” or “This label is already being used” would be the interpretation of the message.antiX Live system enthusiast.

::String 279 “Add to crypttab”
Can we translate “crypttab” or not ?
In French = “Liste de cryptage” or “Table de cryptage” or “Tableau de cryptage” ?
Or it’s a name of an application ?August 3, 2021 at 4:02 pm #64275Member

I think this message is only displayed in the logs. I would leave crypttab alone, as it is a variable or a function.

::Regarding string 298 “Duplicate subvolume label” and following Xecure’s remarks, my translation in French is “Doublon d’étiquette de sous-volume”.
Thank you Xecure.

::Message for translators.
You have to be very careful with the translation of this program because there are many technical terms and the translations do not always exist in your native language or the translation is not often used. I don’t hesitate to add the English terms next to the French translations.
Don’t forget the new users who will ask a lot of questions on the forum if they don’t understand the installation.
When I started Linux, the first thing I did was to watch tutorials to know how to install a distribution. If it was too complicated because it was badly or not translated, I didn’t install the distribution.
Please double check even for old translations. I found some pearls (mistakes) in French.

::Just to add to Wallon’s last post, many of the new translation changes will not be seen by the user.

I follow this same principle, including the English terms in parentheses when there is a translation. Or I explain the meaning of the terms in English including in parentheses the text in Portuguese.
The biggest difficulty in adapting to Portuguese (pt-BR) are the short sentences in English, which do not have the verb. Internet translators cannot locate themselves. In my language, the verb is very important to define whether it is a past, present or future action. The verb influences the entire construction of the sentence and the meaning.
I appreciate the explanations about the intended use of the phrases.

::oops,
Are you on the antiX Contribs?
I don’t know what your native language is, but if you can, help us with antiX Contribs too.
In addition, antiX Contribs needs English speakers to review English texts created by non-native speakers.
We need to increase the translator team for the good of antiX and all users.

oops,
Você está no antiX Contribs?
Eu não sei qual é o seu idioma natal, mas se você puder, nos ajuda com o antiX Contribs também.
Inclusive, o antiX Contribs precisa de nativos do idioma Inglês para revisar os textos em Inglês criados por pessoas não nativos do idioma.
Precisamos aumentar a equipe de tradutores para o bem do antiX e de todos os usuários.
