Localization of antiX is very important to us. Over the years, we have tried to make antiX available in as many languages as possible. With the help of the antiX and MX communities, we have managed to improve localization of our applications, but more work is needed.
If you can help with translations, please just jump in. Please do not use an on-line translator, for a language you do not know. It ends up being counter-productive.

You can count on me if you need help for french localization. Transifex is already done even if it must be revised in some parts.

If you need help for website, FAQ or whatever do not hesitate to tell me.

I’ll continue with the mostly uncompleted files in ES.
After the MXUM-17.1-ES is ready in a couple of days. .

Downloaded those files the other day to begin. Looking forward to getting antiX-es completed. I am not a native speaker but have over 40 years of practice in the oilfield which may explain my errors, not forgive them

Currently a bit challenged by working via cell phone Data plan. For that reason prefer to download to work on laptop.

              Richard.

Note: strange words or fragments are gifts from the Auto-correcter. A dubious helper, sometimes. 🙂

Hi anti. I was wondering when you update translations. I can see many string untranslated in my antiX install although Transifex has been fully completed.

I understand very well when you say that localization is very important to you guys, so I’ve helped with it. Both antiX and MX are already fully translated in my language. Localization, however, brings an other issue along: support.
Localization makes all sense to allow for non-English speakers to use computers (in the case running antiX or MX), of course. But if we consider that users of the systems in English can make good use of all the good support documentation provided we can imagine that non-English speakers would need even better support documentation, which antiX still lacks (for known and understandable reasons).
Considering that IT-educated people and people self-learned in IT/computers must know English and can use all material in English, what would make more sense to me would be to have support documentation in other languages, directed especially towards basic users of computers. I’m also taking in consideration the fact that antiX stives to provide an OOTB ready to use system, which includes very practical and easy to use graphical tools that make the system increasingly easy to use by non-IT minded people.
So, I’d be glad to prepare a support document in Portuguese based on the FAQ and other documentation and focused on basic users, if you could make it available with the distribution or by any other means you might find appropriate.
