Yes… Movies, such as the above made in Russia are just stories about those times. Fiction it is. Much more representative movie would be ‘Within the Whirlwind’, a story about prof. Ginsburg from Kazan University, sent to gulag for 15 years for no reason. Those were the times when wives denounced husbands (and vice versa), brothers denounced brothers, children denounced parents, out of fear… On mere suspicion of thoughts dissenting from the political correct views those accused were sent to gulags, where they usually died in harsh conditions.
People in the West cannot possibly understand the terror of those times.
However, back to the core of the original topic: German invasion in 1941 galvanized all people of CCCP for defense of the fatherland and eventually resulted in taking Berlin. The role of Russia (CCCP or USSR to be precise) was key in ending World War II, although never given enough credit on the West.

I believe the statement on foreign troops and military bases in Germany is correct. I still remember times when I saw Russian military in DDR. In general, US has over 800 foreign military bases around the world. Russia has only one such base – in Syria.

You discount the entire statement on the number of losses of lives as a lie just based on imprecision of quoted name. The fact that during the entire period of 1917-1959 it was initially (1917-1924) called ‘Soviet Russia’ and in 1924 renamed to CCCP (USSR), does not make the quoted numbers a lie, if it refers to the entire period as USSR and is irrelevant to validity of the referenced report.

Subsequently, after Soviets (called Bolsheviks at that time) came to power in October 25 the same year 1917 (Nov. 7 of new calendar) the entire royal family, including women and children were brutally executed by Soviets, so none of royal blood survives.
