So I installed a bunch of stuff with Synaptic and separately with a popular packages installer, all without much special warnings arising, but when I try to install bpytop I immediately get told I have held broken packages. Python Depends: python3-psutil (>= 5.7.0) but 5.5.1-1 is to be installed

I did install a bunch of stuff. Stopped short of blender I think, all lightning fast (comparing to dnf) but…maybe I’m doing something wrong?

On antix Bullseye no problem to install.

sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install bpytop
Paketlisten werden gelesen… Fertig
Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut… Fertig
Statusinformationen werden eingelesen… Fertig
Die folgenden zusätzlichen Pakete werden installiert:
python3-psutil
Vorgeschlagene Pakete:

What info does installed some separately with a popular packages installer give the forum.

As the crystal ball is broken posting decent information is a neccesity for being able to give any help.
You may have installed something which is blocking the package.

Grup Yorum being too consistent w. name, maybe you have some respect for the naming choice, if it is not to
your taste you can always move elswhere.

in antiX 19.4 bpytop comes from the buster-backports repos. antiX has them set up with lower priority (to avoid conflicts with newer packages frm backports), so you need to specify to apt that you want all dependencies to also get them from backports only for the bpytop installation
sudo apt install -t buster-backports bpytop

Also, could you change the topic title so it is relevant to the question asked? It improves search results for when people are trying to find this exact problem.

Note: You may want to use a different terminal emulator, as roxterm has issues with bpytop (or maybe it is only my system).
