When I booted with MX, I did it the simple way, putting home & root together, then encrypting it.
I’m sorry, I didn’t read that you had encrypted your MX install, until just now.
So the big question is: will antiX live-usb be able to access your encrypted MX installation?
Or what about: boot normally using MX. Save your files to a cloud storage account – like google drive, for instance?
Then you would be free to install antiX.
confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019
Now you know why Thunar isn’t working right…
@BobC,
I looked at synaptic to see what gvfs were missing, but everything the article said was there. I looked at all the gvfs & there were only a few that weren’t installed. Of those only one looked like a possibility, so I installed it. I restarted Thunar, but it still couldn’t see the devices. Btw, I noticed while looking at the gvfs, that there is a file called “beef”, described as a “flexible bain-fuck interpreter”. Sounds like something I should install in my life.
Anyways, I installed SpaceFM and low & behold all devices showed without me doing anything else. I’ve suddenly fallen in love with SpaceFM. Now I’m happily on my way to transferring files and installing antiX. Thanks Bunches, I appreciate your time in helping….. just noticed that Thunar is now working,but PCmanFM is still not seeing devices. I figure that SpaceFM brought over then needed missing gvfs.
