Looks like these controls should be universally recognized by all laptops, not just thinkpads so these would replace key codes, such 176, 160, 123, 122, 121, etc… Would this be correct conjecture?

Good thing you got it to work. BobC got it right. Hopefully this can be added to the /etc/skel/.fluxbox/keys in the future.

I added the XF86 keys/buttons when I proposed the antiX 19 changes for IceWM and never heard of it causing problems or not working, and I don’t use Fluxbox myself, but agree it makes sense.
