        What to do?

It’s ALWAYS advisable to try to install applications from Package Installer – try to install Brave Browser from there… That’s why the Dev Team created it – to be a kind of mini “app store” that allows access to apps that are not on the official repository (or newer versions of those apps)

Edit: as you noticed “Brave” is not in the repository – you can find out what packages are available in the repository using the “apt search” command. In your case:

        apt search brave

          https://brave.com/linux/

see the “Debian 9+, Ubuntu 16.04+ and Mint 18+”

          To update brave browser:
          sudo apt-get install –only-upgrade brave-browser

          thank you

            Hi kaye,

The site you linked to has the following instructions to install the Brave browser on systems running Debian 9+, Ubuntu 16.04+ and Mint 18+:

“If you get gnutls_handshake() errors after adding the Brave repository on Debian 9, you may need to uninstall old conflicting packages.

            sudo apt install apt-transport-https curl

            sudo curl -fsSLo /usr/share/keyrings/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg

            echo “deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg arch=amd64] https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/ stable main”|sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/brave-browser-release.list

            sudo apt update

            sudo apt install brave-browser”

Did you follow all those instructions? Did they work for you?

(If not, perhaps antiX-21 is too new…)
