Thank you for sharing your inxi output. Did you start with a LiveUSB? or DVD? Have you tried antiX-21 yet? I have version 21 working on lesser equipment. And I also have an HP Mini netbook with 1GB RAM that runs antiX-21.

Howdy and Welcome from the other clamshell n270 cpu antiX pioneer.

CPU is the choke point while browsing the net.\
Ram is not a issue. Mine also had a 2 gig stick.
Mine were eee 901 and eee 701sd models though.
Quite older then yours.
