I’ve just setup antiX 17.1 on my only 64bit machine and am looking forward to installing on the 2 32bit units.
Puppy Linux 5.2.8 has been my choice for many years on these “antique” machines but forced to find a better alternative to get up-to-date on browsers.
So here I am!
I think what really made the difference in choosing antiX was the extensive use/development of curses utilities. GUI is great but often need commandline to fix GUI configs. Curses utilities makes that a lot easier.
Well Done!

How to Search for AntiX solutions to your problems
Greetings DocSalvager and welcome to antiX. Like Roky and many others, I too have been around to many different types of distributions, but I have been a determined follower of Debian-based distributions all the way back to 2001. I first picked up MEPIS in 2003 when Warren Woodford was testing it out, and in a similar way I found antiX in 2005 and I’ve been with these distributions from their inception.
I’ve used Puppy many times too, but not quite as often as antiX. Frankly, antiX gets a LOT of good ideas from projects as widespread as Debian, MEPIS, PCLinuxOS (indirectly), Puppy, Slackware, and Absolute Linux (just to name a few, based on the add-ons the antiX community and the engineers over the past decade or so have contributed to what we have today.
We can thank the overall free software movement for this broad cross-sharing of software across the past 2-3 decades.
