Tentoes
Hi everyone, just dropping a brief note from my old Dell laptop with antiX base. I’m liking this distro so far, easy to install and configure. It seems quite intuitive. Looking forward to building a music server on a dumpster find Acer desktop.

::Here’s a list of the hardware that I am currently running with Linux.
Inspiron 3531 laptop (circa 2014)
Pentium N3530 2.6GHz, quad core, integrated graphics adapter, 4GB RAMWas frustratingly slow with Windows 8.1, but feels quite lively with antiX-19.3.
Acer Aspire AM3400 desktop (circa 2010)
AMD Athlon II x4 635 2.9GHz, integrated Radeon HD 4250 graphics adapter,4GB RAM, Asus Xonar Essence STX 24bit sound cardThis was pulled from the E-waste bin at work. No hard drive, but otherwise functional and in good shape.
Currently running Lubuntu 19.04 (not LTS). This will be my main project as a audiophile music server, player and recorder based on antiX.April 14, 2021 at 1:15 am #57541Moderator

::This ought to work well,
antiX can be used on stuff 5, 10, sometimes even older.
Another option is to turn old hardware into a Chromebook alternative.
Both approaches have their pros and cons.
I’ve rarely ever found a system that failed to run antiX and I have used it since the very first public build.

such as 20+ years old Pentium-III’s and Pentium-II’s. 🙂
Welcome Tentoes. I’ve played with a couple music servers on antiX. One good one is MPD/Cantata. Another MPD/mpc. Have Cantata on an old Pentium-III laptop with 256Gb RAM. You should have no problem with your equipment.
I grew up in PNW, Seattle.
