      I’m confused.

Do you have 2 frugal installs on sda3?

How are you booting into these frugal installs? vis usb menu or already installed linux grub menu?

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

I don’t have a solution but I think you need to setup two different boot menu entries for two separate frugal installs. I seem to remember something about the frugal install naming the partition and then defaulting to that one partition.

I have only one frugal install on sda3 that is antiX-19.1-sid_x64-core with mate desktop.Voidlinux is installed in sda1 and antiX-19.1 boots using grub-entry (voidlinux grub menu).

Ok – so what is your issue? Is it related to this frugal install?

When I try to frugal-install antiX-19.2-runit-sid_x64-core with ‘failsafe boot'(because runit-sid-core does not boot in normal mode) on sda3 it boots already frugal-installed 19.1 and changed graphics settings on 19.1 so the display looks streched.

You need to rename the original frugal install folder to for example antiX-19.1-Frugal. You will also need to edit the grub menu.
Then try a frugal install of core-runit. Seems like the second frugal install put files in the first.

Also, for next frugal install, instead of failsafe try removing the splash boot option and see if it will boot that way.

When you do the frugal install you are asked if you want to change the name of the partition. Say no. Then after install you will have a grub entry file that you can refer to for editing your grub config. It will have the name and partition set up for you. Just copy and paste.

I will try runit-core later. All I want now is to get nouveau driver and 1360×768 resolution back in installed 19.1.

I tried that and tried safe video mode also.I never had this issue before. All antiX iso’s boot normal.I have tried all 19.2 base, core, sid, runit variations. This particular one (19.2-runit-sid_x64-core) fails to boot normally.

Thakyou @Seaken64.I have downloaded almost all the videos of D_O:). At one time before I have four instances of antiX frugal-intalls in the same sda3.Now I settled with this 19.1-sid-core-mate and removed all other frugals:)

This is me speaking crazy things, so it may not work.

                                  1. Check /etc/modprobe.d/ folder and files to make sure nouveau is not blacklisted in any file.
                                  2. UnLoad nouveau driver
                                  sudo modprobe -r nouveau
If it sais nothing, it will now be unloaded. If it was already unloaded, then it will inform you (nothing else).
                                  3. Delete the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file
                                  sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf
                                  4. Try reinstalling nouveau
                                  sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
                                  5. Try reloading the module
                                  sudo modprobe nouveau
                                  6. Try to reconfigure xorg
                                  sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

                                  Hopefully something here helps.
