Please look on the installed antiX19.1 at
ls /etc/modprobe.d
If there’s still something like live-initrd-blacklist file, please delete it.
Afterwards also delete the /etc/X11/xorg.conf again and reboot.Anonymous

I can remember deleting old homefs and rootfs files. I have a month old snapshot of this 19.1.

Removed ‘blacklist nouveau’ line from /etc/modprobe.d/live-blacklist.conf and followed all the steps. If I touch anything in live-blacklist.conf, X fails to boot.

I have no more ideas left.
Sometimes strange problems pop up, and we can do nothing to solve them.
Good thing you have a backup. If you cannot find any solution at all, then backup your current installed home folder, produce a list of packages installed, and reinstall the frugal from the backup. Then replace the home folder content with the one that was in the frugal installed and all the most important files and configurations should be there.
Then, if you are missing programs, do an apt install to the package list produced on the frugal install and get them all again.antiX Live system enthusiast.
