I just started to experience problems with DNS on my antiX PC running Grup Yorum.

I can connect to my WiFi router but when I try to ping google.com, I get:

      $ping google.com

ping: google.com: name or service not known

I know that the wifi is working since I can ping 8.8.8.8

I have tried restarting connman but that does not solve the problem.
(yes, I have also tried rebooting the computer).

My /etc/network/interfaces file looks fine. It only has:

      auto lo
      iface lo inet loopback

P.S. When I reboot the PC, I check ifconfig, I am often assigned a 172.x.x.x address.
I need to restart connman before I get a valid 192.168.1.x address.
And when I look at the output of the route command, I see that my gateway is 192.168.1.1
(which is the correct gateway). But DNS is still not working!!

Any ideas?? Without DNS, my antiX PC is pretty useless.

Looks like I solved the DNS problem.

For some odd reason, there was no longer a /etc/resolv.conf file on my antiX Linux PC.
Perhaps a recent update deleted the file (which is just a symlink).

Once I recreated the file as follows and rebooted everything works again:

        sudo ln -sf /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf

I hope this helps others experiencing DNS issues.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion that a recent update (i.e an update to connman) broke the DNS.
I am glad that the fix was an easy one.
