Help to Install Pre-amp for Alsamixer?

On AntiX17 Xfce, there is a Pre-amp option bar – which was not there for a very long time. It just suddenly was there.

On AntiX17.1 IceWM, again Pre-amp is missing.

Thought maybe it was from the Kernel upgrade in Xfce – so tried installing that same kernel in IceWM – 4.15.9

-no change.

Found that in file “var/etc/alsa/asound.state” this entry is missing in IceWM AntiX 17.1 and present in Xfce AntiX 17:

I tried carefully pasting it in [and saving] as Root exactly as it appeared.

Disappeared on Reboot – went back to 41 entries.

It also does not hold the adjustment in bar setting for Headphones or S/PDIF when unmuted. It just returns to muted w/ MM.

Is there a plug-in or something else needed to get pre-amp?

Searched online and could not find anything that worked.

Any help would be appreciated.
