Hi-
I set brightness at 100%.
After “suspending”, “restart” or “shutdown” it resets itself to 50%.
Is there a way to set it permanently at 100%?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

::An app is in the works to do this for screen brightness and contrast for both live and installed environments.
As a temporary measure you could append a backlight-brightness command to your startup file.

::Thank you SamK-
Added to startup:
xbacklight -set 100 &It appears to work for IceWM, but not Xfce, unless IceWM is logged into on startup and then log into Xfce after.
The same thing is happening with the DPI and volume control settings – is that also connected to this issue?
I have added a script in slim configuration file for DPI (xserver_arguments -dpi 120 -nolisten tcp) that was working, and now does not. The DPI problem is present only in IceWM.
Xfce was installed with SLiM.

That sounds like you may be using the file for IceWM
~/.icewm/startup
rather than the session file
~/.desktop-session/startupDecember 23, 2018 at 4:35 pm #14562Memberrej
::Thanks! Yes – you are right. I corrected that and now both hold the brightness setting.
Would you know if the DPI in IceWM, and volume control in both, are connected to this or a separate issue?

::This solved my problem with the brightness setting as well. I have been trying to figure this out for months.

::Hi-
This was working in antiX 17, but no longer does –
xbacklight -set 65 &
antiX & Fluxbox:
~/.icewm/startup
/.fluxbox/startup
Xfce:
~/.desktop-session/startupXfce Power Manager setting does not hold either.
When rebooted, goes back to 100% – is there another way to set it?
Thanks.
