Many thanks for the footnote. My situation is very similar but it my kids who run the shop and I have to try and provide what they need. During Covid several major changes had to be made to survive and anticipate a changing business environment which has forced us down the M$ route for reasons of expediency. I am still providing some back of house help and am upgrading my linux hardware. Unfortunately, as you have confirmed, some hardware is just no longer supported and this has prompted me to look harder at Antix. To date I have used it only to keep 32bit laptops running. These are not used in the business but by me. I now am looking at the bigger machines which remain relevant and with upgrade components which fit, now affordable too. For example I was able to upgrade memory at a fraction of the cost of the original components. My problems have been primarily with graphics and am looking harder at Antix so your kind thoughts are much appreciated.
