antixlinux on a 3000×2000 13in matebook x (I already tried antixlinux on an “older” matebook x a few months ago and I don t remember I had the issue – !?! – but my “old” matebook x had an issue so I am back now with a “newer” one)
with the default ~/.screenlayout/default.sh xrandr –scale “0.5×0.5” the text was kind of “fuzzy” …
… so I set default.sh to –scale “1×1” and set dpi to 216 (same as in Windows) and now text is nice and crisp in all applications and in most apps like web browsers the GUI is “scaled” correctly but in some apps like icewm, gparted, etc some GUI components like icons are way too small …any help/hint maybe ??
thanks !

::I have enlarged the components (battery, net, ram, cpu indicators) in the taskbar monitor (in icewm .preferences) and this part is better now but a lot of icons are still too small …

::If you go to
control-centre > desktop > set dpi
It should normally also change many GUI applications like gparted, it does here.June 2, 2022 at 7:12 pm #83994Memberpierro78

(the gparted window is actually quite tiny because my screen is only 13inches)- This reply was modified 11 months ago by pierro78.

::It s more of an “aesthetic” bug : maybe you don’t realize but the gparted icons are tiny, and the gparted window is also very small (the screen is only 13inches)
Also it’s hard to see but the icewm icons to close/minimize/maximize an app (at the upper right corner of apps) are kind of tiny too …- This reply was modified 11 months ago by pierro78.

::Try the Large IceWM theme instead of Huge, and try lower DPI settings. Are you familiar with IceWM’s “Tile” window options? It would be very easy to make the Gparted (or any other window) take up 1/4 or 1/2 the screen. While in the Gparted window, mouse to the title bar, right click, and then pull out the Tile option, and select one.
PS: If you want to get to the current window’s title bar using a key, try Alt+space or Shift+Esc to pop up the window menu.

::thanks folks for all your help !
maybe I ll add a picture of gparted in mx linux to show you folks that its icons are not so tiny :
(notice also that the WM icons for “maximize/minimize/close” are also bigger)
maybe I ll spend more time with mx linux now except if there is an “easy” solution for this small issue with hidpi screens on antix
thanks again !
