      At last I have Network Manager up and running and have purged connman. Re creating the sysmlink for resolvconf was required and then all was good. The popup for NM has an option for selecting hidden ssids so it was easy to connect.
      Many thanks to all who have contributed and for Antix 19.2 which is great for me.
