Hi my name is Frederick i’m from Argentina, new to Linux and Antix!
I found the system very impressive, i tested it on an old netbook (atom N450 with only 2 GB of ram)….
WOW… it feels like some kind of magic or god level divine intellect developer optimization. I never achieve this level of performance
in this kind of old hardware. When i opened Firefox and scrolled smoothly i knew this O.S was something different from the rest of the pack.
How in the world you can keep the system under 1 GB of ram with the browser (two tabs), the mpv playing a video and all of that going smoothly
without dropping a single frame?. I tested other distros (even Puppy Linux) and never felt comfortable using it on that machine. I seriously recommended
Antix to a couple of friends and they are loving it. I have more old computers to test with.. i want to push the system to its limits… and see
how low i can go before its unusable. Whats the difference between Antix and MX?
      Cheers!

P.S: i’m embarrassed to admit i destroyed Antix network.. form the terminal i installed network-manager again, don’t ask my why(i was toying with the terminal) and now i have the two interfaces wlan and eth with connection but i cannot access internet xD…. so i’m slowly going to move my arse to the help section so i can get some help xD (i don’t have an snapshot).

Howdy and Welcome. Nice thing about antiX. Reinstall takes less time than fixing things induced by new user mistakes.
1 hour vs days sometimes. I left out 2 ]] closing brackets in conky and spent days figuring that snafu out.
It was a user mistake also.

It is not as slow as a Windows XP re-install. That is for sure.

There is conman network manager sticky somewhere around here.

Found it in the antiX 21 section. In case you wish to use ceni

Welcome to antiX, metalinchains, what did you do exactly, did you install network-manager or did you reinstall connman, which is the network manager on antiX ?
First thing you could try is, go to
menu > applications > antix > switch wifi program

From the terminal i reinstalled network-manager and that’s were the problem started. I was unable to install packages or surf the net (ping to 8.8.8.8 ok but the system was unable to resolve dns). Trying to fix the problem my brain come up with a stoooopid idea of uninstalling network-manager and installing it again. I uninstalled the damn thing and… its like locking the door and trowing the key trough the Window or banning yourself from the server being the administrator hahaha. I got in the situation were i cannot download whats needed to repair the system.
Kudos for the most noobish thing i made in my life.

Under the formating table instead of formating choose -preserve- for home.

But you might be able to save your system by switching to ceni with the wifi switcher program mentioned above, which would make your internet connection work again with ceni, and you could then reinstall connman.

I was unable to access the internet no matter what i tried.
I reinstalled and i’m back on track. Time to make a snapshot so this wont happen again.
                  Thanks!

@metalinchains, Welcome to antiX. Like rokytnji said, sometimes it’s better to reinstall. Especially if your installation is new. And preserving the /home can lead to problems also needing troubleshooting. Best to start over, as you found out. Make your snapshot/backup before making changes and it will be easier to refresh after an incident causes trouble.
