::Hello qwee and PPC
The topic title does not narrow it down from general;
Your first post qualifies specially as , for onboard.onboard special case, because it comes with the features you requested here the desktop icon and a status panel icon.
The trick is to turn it on. then the icons are on the desktop.One method would be to just have it turned on with start-up; machine will show onboard icons.
That would be then, number ten on PPC’s essential List.Will that work PPC? Will that work qwee?

::@ile: It’s hard to say excatly what qwee wants, ” put shortcut on my desktop and on panel” refers to the “desktop”, for sure, but I assumed that “panel” meant the “toolbar”- because qwee was refering to “shortcut”… You gave instructions to put the “icon” on the system tray (the main diference is that on system tray the application is already running- consuming system resources, but, because it’s already running, it opens instantly when the user clicks the icon on the system tray).
Qwee may choose what options fits best to his/her’s personal needs!P.S- I wrote the “how to” because things in antiX are done a little different than in other operating systems (like Windows)- where we don’t get to just click a running application and choose to pin it to the toolbar or the desktop, but, We do have a Graphics User Interface to add or remove icons to the toolbar. antiX has GUI’s for almost every single task a “regular” user may want to do, but some are just harder to find (I keep finding new ways to do stuff myself all the time!). I wrote a small script to simplify adding icons to the desktop (basically automates the entire process, the user has only to drag and drop the icon to the desktop) but anticapitalista did not include it in antiX (maybe because it’s a really basic task to do, just opening the File Manager to a certain folder and drag and drop an icon) and admit that having such a script available would not avoid having users asking here “how to add icons to the desktop”, after all there’s a Toolbar Icon Manager right there in the antiX sub-menu and still people ask all the time “how to add icons to the toolbar/bar/panel” (whatever you want to call it).
