What do you mean with “turns off”? After reboot, doesn’t date/time appear in taskbar? Or it appears, but it’s not the correct one?
I think you have to edit ~/.icewm/preferences (similarly for jwm or fluxbox).
EDIT: I’m not sure about my previous thought. I remember that this is the way to change the date/time format.

You mean that date doesn’t appear at all?
Have you tried any options in the list there in “Control Centre -> System -> Set Date and Time”?

IceWM stores the configuration of it’s toolbar clock in the TimeFormat variable. If that variable is stored in the prefoverride file, that configuration will always be used by IceWM, when it starts. So one way to change the clock’s configuration is editing that variable’s content on the prefoverride file:

              antiX Menu > Terminal:

              echo 'TimeFormat="%d/%m/%y %H:%M"' >> ~/.icewm/prefoverride && icewm -r

Here is a list of part of the values you can use in this variable (full list is on https://ice-wm.org/FAQ/):

              Date:
%d- is day of the month
%a- is day of the week
              %m- is month
%y- is year (the last 2 digits)
              %U – is week number
%c – is date+time (it shows day of the month and year)- (strftime format string)
              %x – is the full date (month/day/year)
%D – is the full date, in “American” format: month/day/year

              Time:
%H- is one of the possible configurations for Hour ( using a 24-hour clock)
%I- is one of the possible configurations for Hour ( using a 12-hour clock)
              %M- is minutes
              %S- is seconds
%p- Show either “am” or “pm” according to the given time value, or the corresponding strings for the current locale

You can adapt TimeFormat’s contents anyway you like, what I choose above is just an example…

Note: this command just adds a line with the “echoed” contents to the prefoverride file and restarts icewm. You may want to manually edit the prefoverride file. If you use this command a lot, be aware that it simply adds new “TimeFormat” variables to the text file, and Icewm uses the value indicated in the latest line (so you can have lots of line in the prefoverride file, related to TimeFormat and IceWM just uses the configuration set in the last line, ignoring the previous ones, than can just be deleted by you). I just recommend this command because it’s the fastest way to edit that config file.
