      Dear Users,

      I created a file in the following directory;
      /etc/apt/preferences.d/01preferencewallon

      I put the following script in the file;

      Package: icewm
      Pin: 2.9.9-1.0antix1
      Pin-Priority: -1

      Package: icewm-common
      Pin: 2.9.9-1.0antix1
      Pin-Priority: -1

      I have rebooted the pc and when I do “sudo apt updade”, it wants to update IceWM.
      How can I block the update?

      Best regards,
      Wallon

            Dear dolphin_oracle,

            I had also tried with the script Pin: version 2.9.9-1.0antix1 but it did not work.
            I also tried a script with Pin-priority: 1001 but it did not work.

            Dear Marcelocripe,

            I saw this command on the internet but I think you have to retype it every time you turn on the computer.
            I would have preferred a script to make it permanent (as long as the problems with IceWM 3.0.1 and pulseaudio, conky… are cleaned up).

            Best regards,
            Wallon

              Dear Wallon.

              The command locks the package, preventing it from being updated.
              You can also lock the package with Synaptic, select the package, click the Package menu and the Lock Version option. The locked package will have a lock icon and a red stripe to make it stand out and differentiate it from the others.

              – – – – –

              Caro Wallon.

              O comando bloqueia o pacote, impedindo de ser atualizado.
              Você também pode bloquear o pacote com o Synaptic, selecione o pacote, clique no menu Pacote e na opção Bloquear versão. O pacote bloqueado ficará com um ícone de um cadeado e com uma faixa em cor vermelha para destacá-lo e diferenciá-lo dos outros.

                @Wallon: put
                sudo apt-mark hold <package name>
                into a file called hold-package.bash, chmod +x hold-package.bash.

                If desired you can put it in .bashrc or create an alias with a short abbreviation in .bashrc; any of those alternatives would give you a way to run the command as often as needed.
