@Moddit: regarding Arch Linux and especially AUR, in the past I got burned multiple times by faulty software that ruined entire partitions; one time a bad update was marching through the many partitions I had on a desktop computer; I had two HDD and always at least 10, often 12 or 13 distributions, some of which were stable, others I would test and replace.

Naturally I was able to replace the damage done but it took a while because the warranty routine wiped out 3-4 partitions before I caught it and killed it, so it took several years before I tried an Arch distribution again.

EndeavourOS, however, is one of the best full featured distributions around. It’s not as light and lean as antiX by any means but it is nevertheless a very good distribution, worth trying on systems with enough oomph to handle it. Actually for me it definitely works great on my newest hardware and also on my Dell Inspiron 5558 laptop.

Fear not, however, antiX is not getting removed from any system that has it currently installed! Debian and antiX are my two longest lasting distributions!

“…what killed arch based for me was a longer series of update fails.”

        Totally this.

But Brians endorsement of EndeavourOS has got me itching to install it on an empty partition I got lying around.
