Maybe it’s more obvious if I had SPACEFM.?
Is it possible to get G Chrome browser?
I think I spelled Hannies last name wrong
      Thanks in advance;

        if your desktop session is:
        space+icewm
        space+whatever
then spacefm is managing the desktop and you can add a new icon by
right-clicking an empty spot on the desktop, choose “New” the, from the flyout submenu, choose “File”.
( or choose “Folder” instead if that’s what you want )
Type the (any) desired filename and click “Create”.
An item representing the newly-created file will immediately display on the desktop.
Clicking the newly-created item (or double-clicking, per your configured settings) will open it in a text editor.
        .
The spacefm desktop items reside withing the directory
        /home/yourusername/Desktop/
You can, alternatively, (by various means) browse to and drag or create a file in this directory,
and an item for it will be displayed whenever spacefm is managing the desktop.

        if your desktop session is:
        rox+icewm
        rox+whatever
then rox (aka ‘rox-filer’) is managing the desktop items.
Because rox was designed to provide a drag-n-drop environment, it expects (requires?) you to drag items — from gui file manager (either rox-filer or spacefm or) — and drop them on the desktop. The “items” displayed on the rox desktop are NOT actual files; they are “desktop shortcuts” (per Windows parlance). If you right click an existing rox desktop item and choose “Edit Item” you can read in a popup dialogbox (similar to as seen in WindowXP, eh) “clicking this item opens: /blah/blahbla/somefile

( Not wishing to overwhelm you with details, just trying to provide a full explanation )

rox documentation refers to the desktop as its “pinboard”.
At each launch, the list of shortcuts to be displayed are read from files residing in the directory
          /home/yourusername/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/ROX-Filer/
          .
If you browse the contents of this directory, you will notice that (in antiX default configuration)
          three pb_* files exist.
          pb_antiX-fluxbox
          pb_antiX-icewm
          pb_antiX-jwm

Most users probably don’t know, or care to know, or just don’t bother to do so…
but we are free to create numerous pinboards and choose when/where each will be used.
          For instance:
The launchstring for rox, when invoked from from the fluxbox session startup file, calls
          rox pinboard=pb_antiX-fluxbox

The pb_ and sibling config files are plaintext.
If you are curious, you can view/edit their content in a text editor to learn their secret nuts-n-bolts

( I don’t have a working script at my fingertips, but it involves only a few lines of code )

A script can be used to monitor Xdesktop events, dynamically relaunching rox with a customized pinboard manifest each time a switch between virtual workspaces occurs. Among other usage scenarios, this is handy when setting up a computer for use by young’uns (and motor-impaired users). Instead of requiring them to navigate menus//submenus, can coach them to switch workspaces by clicking < > previous//nextWorkspace buttons on a non-autohiding taskbar. All available “games” will be displayed to one workspace desktop pinboard, all “science-related” applications to another, etc.

Are you running a 32-bit version? Can you share your “inxi -Fxz” output? Chrome will not be offered in the Package Installer if on 32-bit. You could try Chromium.
