      Hi,

With my lowest computer, I try to use Openshot, but the rendering is very slow, for a small video size (39mb), and the full time of this video is : <1m30 ; so In my smartphone with Inshot app, and Xiaomi mi A3, it’s very fastely for rendering, so, Maybe my phone is better hardware than my computer…

But, maybe I need to try FFMPEG, or an another command line, for rendering my movie, and share on social network like mastodon, but mastodon want a short video size like 40mb max; and I need to have a software on Linux, for edit small and short video fastely, so maybe I need to diminuate the size in command line, or don’t choose gtk interface for that. But I don’t know how to operate this modern method, for increase the size of video, or edit and rendering.

      Thank you for help.

(A list who help me when I need to try some software video edit on linux) If anyone know better software, thank you :

Hi- you can use ffmpeg to cut a video without recoding it. since you a 64 bits system, you can test this ffmpeg GUI(it provides an appimage): https://github.com/mifi/lossless-cut (I never tested this app)
See it this does what you want…

But, f your android system is better for video editing, you can try sticking it with… for a very long time I had more powerfull CPU (and more RAM) on my phone than on my desktop…

          Solved it work good,

For install I do that :

          sudo snap install losslesscut

          and

          sudo snap refresh

and after because I don’t ln -s for this bin app , for launch I try that (I need sudo for launch) and alsa don’t work :

          sudo /snap/bin/losslesscut

But It work good with :

File -> Convert to supported format …

Been using this inshot for a couple of years now. Other than one gripe I have where it’s too slow to navigate through very long videos (you have to swipe and swipe and swipe to get through one hour ahead in timeline). Otherwise, overall functionality is great and it’s rich in features like transitions, fades, zooms, text overlays, and editing.

I haven’t used too many video apps before this but this is definitely the best. Relatively user friendly, explanations are nice and when you get to a new/different aspect of editing it doesn’t leave you to poke and hope on figuring things out. So far, it was really fun to use and even the free version has a decent selection of additions and editing tools. Easy to understand and use with lots of features! I downloaded Picsart for editing a while back and it was exponentially easier to understand than other apps. There are lots of features and the updates are never pointless. I swear whenever I wish this app had something it appears in the next update. I edit a lot of videos for many things and this app is my go to! Highly recommend!
