        Control Centre > Session > User Desktop-session > Startup
        Add these in the startup file (at the end, for example).

        # Start geoclue
        /usr/libexec/geoclue-2.0/demos/agent &

        Save the file and restart the session.

        Done.

          Hi,

          I did install ‘redshift-gtk’ way back and ‘geoclue*’ was not needed at all.
          I managed to circumvent the issue redshift complaining about location by writing a manual configuration of location into the config. file ‘~/.config/redshift.conf’, e.g.

          [redshift]
          temp-day=5250
          temp-night=2750
          gamma=0.8
          adjustment-method=vidmode
          location-provider=manual
          [manual]
          lat=29.6
          lon=14.4

          If you do not travel too far with your PC/desktop/notebook/USB (no significant change of time-zones), this could do the job instead of ‘geoclue*’
          I know some people that try to avoid ‘geoclue*’ considering it connecting to internet to determine your location as undesirable as far as privacy is concerned.

          EDIT: I did find the manual-location on the internet.

            Thanks sybok, good fix,
            as one who has avoided geoclue, disabled geolocation in browsers and blocked the geolocation service
            from Mozilla and goog will use for sure. I locate according to other sites in Bremen or sometimes
            Stuttgart depending on provider exit point, best I can do I think..

            As I pass on a pre configured setup I am trying to avoid any issues with personal data transfer,
            one, very pervasive is location.
