Dear users,
I noticed that for MX Linux, SpaceFM is in French.
How can I get SpaceFM in French with Antix?Best regards,
WallonFebruary 22, 2021 at 3:59 pm #54774Memberskidoo
???
all your other programs are displayed in French, but spaceFM (and roxterm, which you have mentioned in another topic) is ignoring your system locale?
or
your system locale is something different, but you wish to enforce French locale for just spaceFM (and roxterm)?https://askubuntu.com/questions/79319/how-to-change-language-of-a-specific-application

Dear skidoo,
I have installed Antix in be_French.
Please see my screenshot (be_french menu.jpg). You will see the general menu in French and you will notice that corrections made in Transifex are not yet updated in Antix.
Nearly all my programs are in English or not well translated in French (only one or two sentences translated in the menu).

On my second screenshot (be_fr ROXTerminal in English.jpg), you will see my Terminal. All is in English. Why in English, this a French installation?
Thank you for your support.

The apps do not see it as a fr install, but as a be_FR install. (not the same thing).
Very few app have any translations in be_FR or be (unfortunately)
Have a look in /usr/share/locale/beYou could try
sudo apt install --reinstall spacefm
(or name of app)

Dear Sir,
See my screenshot regarding /usr/share/locale/be
In the folder /usr/share/locale/be, I have 2 subfolders;
1) LC_MESSAGES with 75 files *.mo
2) LC_TIME with 1 file *.moIn the folder /usr/share/locale/fr_BE, I have only 1 subfolder;
1) LC_MESSAGES with only 2 files *.moIt’s not possible to do a french (FRANCE) installation because we haven’t the same keyboard.
For France (fr), it’s a French azerty keyboard.
For Belgium (fr), it’s a Belgian azerty keyboard.I understand there are not a lot of softwares transladed for French Belgium. But for MX Linux installed on my desktop, I receive all in French.
On my old laptop, it’s not possible to run MX Linux.Now, I will try to reinstall SpaceFM.
Best regards,

Dear Sir,
I re-installed SpaceFM.
All the messages are in French and there is nothing abnormal.
I still have the same English sub-menu in SpaceFM. This did not change after the re-installation.Best regards,

It is up to spacefm to provide fr_BE or be .mo files.
We at antiX cannot do anything about the fact that they don’t.Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

Yes, I did.
Please find screenshots coming from my desktop MX Linux be_fr installation.
The sub-menus are translated in French.
It’s also SpaceFM 1.0.6 by IgnorantGuru Copyright (c) 2018 GPL3+

This shows that a “fr” translation is installed by spacefm package:
dpkg -L spacefm-common | grep spacefm.mo(untested) I’ll suggest trying the following:
sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/locale/be_FR/LC_MESSAGES
sudo cp /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/spacefm.mo /usr/share/locale/be_FR/LC_MESSAGES/spacefm.mo
LANG=”be_FR.UTF-8″ spacefm
