      I couldnt find DNScrypt-proxy 2.0.8 in the synaptic manager so downloaded it but how do i install it?

        Since it requires systemd, and antiX doesn’t use it, I wouldn’t bother. Also, the git site does not give any instructions either.
        So, I also have no idea.

          I’m on 17.1 stretch repos and a search for “dnscrypt” shows
          dnscrypt-proxy and dnscrypt-proxy-plugin packages in synaptic.
          Did you reload before the search?

              Sorry didn’t pay attention to the number in synaptic saying 1.9.
              Would it be newer in testing or sid?

                  I just checked and the downloaded tarball is an already prepared binary, just extract to a folder
                  and run. I just checked the 386 one in the screenshot. To install you would have to copy it to
                  somewhere in the path. I.E. like /usr/local/bin
