I am trying to install Kodi from the repository however when using either the command line or the package installer it fails to install due to unmet dependencies.
The problem is python3-talloc depends on libtalloc2 = 2.3.1-2+b1 but I have version 2.3.4-2-bpo11+1 installed.
I cannot find a way to downgrade to the version that kodi requires.
How do I install kodi?

::My guess is you have installed something else that conflicts with it. I installed it from the Package Installer, (ver 19.1) and it runs just fine.
You didn’t post any of the info needed (look at the threads near the top of the list) to help diagnose the problem. I’d suggest you try what I did on a fresh flashdrive with antiX 22 full x64 sysvinit to prove it for yourself.

::Ok, that looks fine. I didn’t see the repos listed, though. Have you installed any other packages? Hopefully they were via the package installer or package manager.
Did you try making a fresh flashdrive, booting it, updating, and then installing it from the package installer?
I would say if its that important to you, start from the fresh flashdrive, install kodi from the package installer, and then add any other packages you installed one at a time until you find which one conflicts.
If you get them all installed without any conflicts, then your problem is solved.

::If you have libtalloc2 version 2.3.4-2-bpo11+1 installed you must have installed something explicitly from backports repo. Can’t remember?
If python3-talloc is really the only problem, it might helps to install python3-talloc also from the backports.
But as you see, installing from backports can give problems.January 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm #96544MemberNickStone

::You could simulate removing it to see what depends on it? Run these two commands and post the results. I expect they will give you some good hints.
