I use evolution for mail and with the /home partition holding all stuff from Mate 20.04 it opened nicely and knew where to find my password, so there was no need to setup. However, when I click on a link inside the email it does not open a browser, but it opens file manager in the profile folder.
hovering over the link even says click to open link in browser, but instead of internet browser it opens in a file browser??
it works fine in ubuntu, so it must be some minor tweak. I tried Claws hoping it would offer to import my settings from evolution, but no luck.
I apologize for bothering again, I searched the forum for evolution and could not see anything helpful.
Cheers

not exact URL, because the OP didn’t mention which version of evolution and as a non-user idunno which set of documentation is applicablehttps://help.gnome.org/users/evolution/
Click the link, then on the landing page, click to choose the version…> lots of irrelevant stuff on how to solve problems on gnome desktops

::The easiest solution is installing the same browser you use in gnome/mate. The better solution would be to change the default programs for opening links. If Evolution respects this configuration, then it will help.
Use Control Centre > Desktop > Preferred Applications and set up the default browser (even if it already set up). In most cases, this will also fix the default application to open links. You can then test it again.
There is also a program (Control Centre > System > Alternatives Configurator) that will let you modify more in detail how http/https (links) are handled by which program. If evolution uses the standard system configuration to open links, this should work. If it doesn’t, we will have to investigate and discover what configuration file it uses as reference (and edit it).
Hopefully this helps (beware of how it may also affect your gnome system, as the user configuration are applied widely on all linux OS’ that access it).antiX Live system enthusiast.
