Okay, so, long story short, I got some stems to remix stuff, but they’re stored in rar archives and I can’t seem to even open them. Is there any way to open or extract the rar archive files?

::In terminal:
unrar x filename?Computers are like air conditioners. They work fine until you start opening Windows. ~Author Unknown

::Yes. If you don’t already have it installed, install “unrar” from the repo (using synaptic or the terminal, with sudo apt install unrar). then extract the rar files with “unrar e <path_to_file>”. You can just type “unrar e” at the terminal (without quotes) and drag and drop the rar file to the terminal…
PS: I’ve been ninjaed in my answer

::That’s okay. “unrar e” works, but I haven’t “unrar x” yet.
What does “unrar x” do anyway? I also wonder if there is a way to unrar to a folder or something?

One thing is not knowing how to do something- you could have searched on-line how to extract .rar files on Linux, but since many people are not really proficient searching for stuff on a search engine, asking the forum is a good way to learn how to do something, like you did…
…Another thing is (I don’t want to offend you) just being lazy… Why don’t you type “unrar” at the terminal and read what pops up on your screen? That way you can learn what “unrar x” does way faster than just waiting for someone to answer you…
PS: I’m not usually a fan of telling people to read the manual… But reading the manual is sometimes useful…
Tip: at the terminal, you usually can type “man <name_of_command>” to instantly access the manual file for that command…
In your case:man unrarYou can navigate with up/down keys, and quit by pressing “q” (without the quotes).
That info will save you from having to ask simple questions about commands in the future… You’ll can simply get hte answers you need straight from the source…
I hope this helps you with both your current question and any other question you may have about a command/app you want to know how about!

In antiX 19 and 21 this works out of the box, simply start spaceFM/zzzFM file manager from menu, right click the file, and choose “open → extract”.
To create a rar type archive select file or folder (or create file selection), right click, from context menu choose new → archive. Choose RAR archive type from dropdown and let it create.
Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.
