          What about
          control centre > session > set screen resolution
          Did you already try to set your external monitor there as default
          Afterwards you could save this to ~/.screenlayout/default.sh

          It’s possible to let the system run your screenlayout from the start by adding it to the ~/.desktop-session/startup file like this
          $HOME/.screenlayout/default.sh &

              Had searched web after posting and was able to set the external monitor as default.
              But even the default size could not make Firefox fit in right.

              Will try caprea’s tip sometime today and see how it goes.
