Howdy, i wanted to try and make a server using Linux but couldn’t install Antix on my second HDD, so i made a partition to try and install it there but to no avail, after that i just made a backup of my stuff and tried to use the entire primary HDD, now that i installed it and found out how to make a installation of Windows i want to put it in a partition, so i can Dual Boot Windows and AntiX (Linux), but now the partitions are locked and can’t find a “Search Topic” for this forum (every search bar straight doesn’t work).
This is what i have tried
      – Use Gparted to Shrink
      – Use another Disk Manager
      – Try to split it by BIOS

antiX doesn’t lock partitions. So you have to find out whether Windows has locked them, or whether your BIOS did this for some strange reason. I bet it was windows which has locked the partition, this OS is known to do such weird things. So you should probably ask Microsoft product support how to unlock it again.

Board search is obviously still broken for now, so please use a Board search replacement for now. Simply prepend all your searches by the term „site:antixforum.com” at startpage search site.

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.

How did you try to shrink partitions, please boot a live stick and try with that.
You may still need to tell GParted to unmount the partitions before you are able
to resize. Mounted partitions are shown as locked by default.

You can not resize from an installed running system which uses the same disk if
there is no free space or unmountable ie. not used by running system partitions.
