::Or, at least the live-stick should start without any intervention from the keyboard after some seconds, if the bios is already set to boot from usb.You cant do anything from there, though.

::I would try to solve the problem like this:
1- if possible try to get a usb splitter and then use the pendrive and a usb keyboard, OR
2- use antiX live with persistence, already set up in another computer. Install a onscreen keyboard (for example the “florence” package – it installs in less than 2mb and minimizes to the system tray), so you can use it the virtual keyboard once antiX boots in the touch screen device.Side note: Years ago, I tested MX 19 on a HP laptop that had touchscreen and it worked great- much better than the installed Windows 8.1 – but the device was not mine, so I did not install anything…

::You have to wait several minutes (5 minutes IIRC) and then it boots automatically.
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::However, if you are feeling adventurous, you can edit the /boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg file, to shorten the timeout.
#-------------------------------------------------------------------- # This is the isolinux.cfg and/or syslinux.cfg file # It controls the main menu in the bootloader on the live system. # You can edit it to change the main bootloader menu on a LiveUSB. # If you are not careful you can break the live system and prevent # it from booting. #-------------------------------------------------------------------- UI gfxboot gfx-cpio readme.msg timeout 3000 default custom MENU TITLE Welcome to antiX-21_386-base (Grup Yorum) ...The timeout 3000 shown there means it will boot in 300 seconds (5 minutes).
On one of my special-purpose live-usb’s, I set up my preferences on another computer, and saved the options (F8).
Then manually set the timeout to 30 (only three seconds). That’s one way to do it…

::You change the grub menu on the usb in the same way, for the uefi menu.
Set your menu options & save, while booting on another computer, of course.confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019

::Are you saying that the computer bypasses it & boots from the internal ssd? Or…?

::Please forgive me, but you are very terse in your answers, and I do not understand.
Give us as much detail as possible, please.
If you can explain what happens on your uefi usb live boot, that would be a good place to start.confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019

::OK. Since I rarely boot from a usb on uefi, I had to test one just now.
Unfortunately, I cannot get it to timeout under grub/uefi, either.I can see where grub.cfg says
set timeout=60but it never times-out & boots.Just for fun, does anyone else get anything different, booting uefi?
Does it save customized options when chosen?- This reply was modified 1 year, 1 month ago by christophe.
