      i installed antix 21 on a new laptop and would like to have the same setup as on my old laptop. what files do I need to copy in order to get my settings?
      I remember I had to create desktop files for caja and evolution and modified the antix menus.

        Hi Stephen, when you ask for help any kind of problem please give us enough information to think about how we can help.

        First thing to try is make a snapshot of your modified system, i.e. the one on the older device, keep changes as a personal
        backup, again using antiX tool.
        Create a live USB from the ISO snapshot image, try and boot it, in many cases you will be able to login to your previously
        setup envirenment and then do an install from live keeping your changes.

        Using the antiX tools to transfer a system has worked for me across a wide range of devices. I sometimes had to recreate
        personal menu items which is pretty easy and quick to do.

        Only if above fails badly please ask for more help, we will then have to use more complicated methods.

          I am not sure what is antix tool and where to find it? I will copy the files from ~/.icewm
          are there any other settings files?

            In step by step terms:

            Menu > Control Centre > Mainenence tab > ISO snapshot and make a personal copy of your system.
            then Disks tab > Live USB Maker and burn a copy to a flashdrive
            Put the flashdrive in the other machine, boot it, and install it.
