Buonasera a tutti,
da qualche giorno ho difficoltà a visualizzare i video dei vari Youtube, Rumble ecc. ecc..
La mia macchina è scarsa di risorse e già prima per migliorare la situazione utilizzavo mpv media player (il player di deafult di antix21), copiando il link dei video che volevo vedere su quel player. Ora però tutto è diventato lento e spesso si bloccano mentre li sto guardando, a prescindere che io utilizzi firefox o mpv.
Mi devo rassegnare perchè il mio laptop è troppo vecchio, oppure esiste una soluzione?

Per non parlare quanto è altalenante il 4G, qualora tu ti connetta in tethering. Quando i video rallentano, hai mai provato a fare uno speed test?

1) non ho installato nulla oltre le applicazioni di default
2) la versione di antix21 che ho installato l’ho scaricata dal sito ufficiale di Antix, questo dove c’è anche il forum
3) uso una connessione wifi tramite smartphone con 3G; fino a pochi giorni fa non avevo poblemi.
Inoltre ho fatto una prova con lo smartphone di mia moglie che usa il 4G e non è cambiato niente.caprea

può passare attraverso il software di questo forum.

uso una connessione wifi tramite smartphone con 3G; fino a pochi giorni fa non avevo poblemi.
Normalmente la connessione 3g è al limite.
In attesa dei dati per @caprea, la prossima volta che ti capita, dal browser del tuo telefono, fai uno speed test (ricerca di google -> speed test -> quello di google o quello di Oocla vanno benissimo). Se i risultato è < di 2 Mbit/s, la ragione è da cercare là.
Nota bene che se durante il tethering usi il cellulare per telefonare (anche solo per dire “scusa, ora non posso”), la linea dati si blocca: a te sembra di vedere il video, ma è solo la parte bufferizzata, poi si ferma.
Lo stesso vale col 4g.

While waiting for the data for @caprea, the next time it happens to you, from the browser on your phone, do a speed test (google search -> speed test -> google or Oocla are fine). If the result is <2 Mbit / s, the reason is to be found there.
Please note that if you use your mobile phone to make calls during tethering (even if only to say “sorry, now I can’t”), the data line is blocked: you seem to see the video, but it is only the buffered part, then it stops. The same applies to a 4g connection.

By default mpv opens YouTube videos in hd (720p or higher) – that may be too much to difficult to very old cpus. Try opening YouTube videos in smtube, included in the default antiX Full installation (and make sure that the default resolution for videos is no greater than 480p. If videos still play too slow, pick 360p – the quality is still acceptable and most computers in existence should play videos fine in that resolution.
You can paste YouYube video links in the smtube search field and then open them.
If that works, there is a command line option that forces mpv to play videos at no greater quality than 480 or 360 (or any other quality – unfortunately I do not know by heart witch option is that)…P.

Madibi credevo che fosse un problema del gestore telefonico, che durante il fine settimana abbassa la velocità ma non è così. Oggi è lunedì e il problema è lo stesso.
Lo speed test l’ho fatto poco fa e sono a circa 9 Mb al secondo in download, sembra buono per visualizzare video in streaming.<font style=”vertical-align: inherit;”>utilizzavo mpv media player (il player di deafult di antix21), copiando il link dei video che volevo vedere su quel player. <font style=”vertical-align: inherit;”>Per impostazione predefinita mpv apre i video di YouTube in hd (720p o superiore) – potrebbe essere troppo o difficile per un cpus molto vecchio. Prova ad aprire i video di YouTube in smtube, incluso nell’installazione predefinita di antiX Full (e assicurati che la risoluzione predefinita per i video non sia maggiore di 480p. Se i video continuano a essere riprodotti troppo lentamente, scegli 360p: la qualità è ancora accettabile e la maggior parte dei computer esiste dovrebbe riprodurre video bene con quella risoluzione. </font><font style=”vertical-align: inherit;”>

Ho usato SMtube e ho abbassato la risoluzione a 480 e sembra funzionare, ma ogni volta devo far stabilizzare la cpu, chiudere tutte le finestre aperte, ridurre lo schermo a 1/5 dello monitor e finalmente lo vedo.
L’opzione che dici tu non l’ho trovata, ce ne sono troppe in MPV e faccio fatica a capire.
Col comando mpv-list-options mi da 888 possibilità diverse!!!Italiano

Come metodo è comunque meglio provare anche gli aspetti che possono sembrare banali.OT: ho visto che hai un ASuS portatile, che ha notoriamente la webcam montata al contrario. Se per caso vuoi usare Skype e ti vedi capovolto, fammi sapere che t’invio la correzione.

Hai provato a usare il kernel 4.9 su quel portatile?
Aggiorna anche il kernel 5.10 al kernel 5.10.104.
Andate su
centro di controllo > programmi > installatore di pacchetti > linux-kernel
e installa il 5.10.104Did you try to use the 4.9 kernel on that laptop?
Also please update the 5.10 kernel to the 5.10.104 kernel.
Go to
control-centre > programms >package installer > linux-kernel
and install the 5.10.104Il portatile dovrebbe essere in grado di riprodurre video, prova i suggerimenti di PPC.
