IceWM crash opening audacity

A user posted this issue over at antiX facebook and I can confirm.

Hi. Somoebody know, what is with applications that use wxWidgets and IceWM? Every time, when I run that application (e.g. wxMaxima or Audacity) my IceWM restart.

This definitely happens with IceWM 3 series and does not crash fluxbox, jwm or herbstluftwm.
I’m guessing the bug is IceWM related.

Could users test and let me know which version of IceWM is being used and the version of antiX.

More news on this – IceWM 3.0.1 fixes this bug it seems.
The debs are waiting to be moved to the repos.
Early birds can manually install from here:

https://download.tuxfamily.org/antix/Testing/

You need to install icewm and icewm-common for your arch. These are official antiX-21 debs.

I tested the original IceWM 3 using antiX 19, 64bits (the only thing I left running was my tint2 toolbar and zzzfm and geany) and ran Audacity-2.1.2.glibc2.15-x86_64.AppImage. It ran fine- I don’t know if this info will ever be useful…

Can confirm the above issue on antix21 with icewm 3.0.0-1.0antix1, if I open audacity icewm restarts.

If I try to install the icewm-common_3.0.1-1.0antix1_amd64.deb on antiX21, it wants to remove packages.
The following packages will be REMOVED:
desktop-defaults-icewm-antix icewm icewm-base-themes-antix
icewm-icons-numix-square-antix icewm-icons-papirus-antix
icewm-themes-antix

Edit: OK, got it installed , of course it goes like this
sudo apt install ‘/home/helga/Downloads/icewm-common_3.0.1-1.0antix1_amd64.deb’ ‘/home/helga/Downloads/icewm_3.0.1-1.0antix1_amd64.deb’

There are no restarts of icewm anymore if opening audacity with the new version icewm 3.0.1-1.0antix1

This worked:
sudo apt install $HOME/Downloads/icewm-common_3.0.1-1.0antix1_amd64.deb $HOME/Downloads/icewm_3.0.1-1.0antix1_amd64.deb

icewm 2.9.9-1.0antix1 was not affected, I never have seen issues with audacity in antiX 19.x
But now there is icewm 3.0.0-1.0antix1 available from apt here also, so I’ll report if any issues arise from this update on antiX 19 once I’ve upgraded.

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.
