This must be something simple and silly to not know, so I apologize if it is so…
Now as I customized IceWM to my requirement one behavior still eludes me, and no settings that I see to correct it seems to work: Namely window in focus is the one over which mouse pointer is hovering over, so continually changes as mouse move, instead of establishing window in focus by clicking on it. This is quite annoying and makes it difficult to do anything.
I tried various settings such as ‘Click to Focus’ under ‘Focus’ menu, but to no avail. I have not yet found how to correct this behavior. What is the trick to make it work?
Thanks and Regard…- This topic was modified 2 years, 10 months ago by olsztyn.

::OK, the way I change that is via Menu > Preferences > Focus. I select what I want to use AND then I have to do Menu > Preferences > Save Modifications (the very last line of that sub-menu). That’s not very intuitive, but it works…

::Thanks much. Unfortunately for me I did try this way and also modifying IceWM config. Neither seemed to work. Perhaps I am still missing something to make it work… I will still play with these as the default behavior is unbearable…

::Just an update:
I tried various options in IceWM config (both menu and config file), and nothing appears to change the default behavior that window focus continues to be upon mouse pointer hovering over.
This appears to be a bug in IceWM as no focus changes seem to take effect.
Just to mention, I am running a fully updated antiX 19.2 Hannie Schaft.Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

Thanks for recommendation. Will do as soon as I register for their support.

Thanks again for this recommendation…
However being on the cautious side, before asking another support group for help I spent time on exploring behavior of numerous IceWM configuration settings and approaching midnight finally came across setting that seems to work.
So as it turns out no settings in IceWM Preferences > Focus made any difference. The setting that changes this behavior is in IceWM Preferences > A…-L > AutoRaise. By default it is set (on). Turning this setting off seems to ‘fix’ this behavior as it appears so far. This was lucky finding for me as frankly I was reluctant to reach out to a support group other than antiX forum…
