      @PPC

      Thanks again.
      For my part, I avoid putting apostrophes in the name of my files.
      Also, take all your time.
      It is not urgent for me.

      Friendly.

      Vive antiX !

        @Rantanplan – I tried to deal with the “apostrophe” problem, but I was unable to do it… 🙁
        The good news is that this fix to Icewm’s Recent Files menu may be implemented in antiX itself… Lets wait a bit and see how it goes- it’s a tiny step in improving the life of non English antiX users… It’s not perfect, but at least, it’s much better!

          Dear @PPC,

          Thank you very much for trying everything to solve this French particularity.
          Yes, there is some of the best that will benefit many of us: for that, thank you again.
          We move forward one step after another.
          Don’t worry, you are a good man and don’t doubt that. And don’t allow anyone to make you believe otherwise.
          Have a nice day.

          Peace and friendship.

          Viva Portugal ! 😉

          Vive antiX !
          Vive le Groland !

            Is something needed from me to get this completed? If so, let me know.

              @BobC,

              For me, and only for me : nothing to do. All is right.

              Friendly.

                I don’t think so, except that, since it’s your original script, you can update your code with my proposed changes (you can check out the latest version of the script I uploaded in this thread) and try to make sure that anticapitalista updates the code that antiX uses.

                The only thing that seems not to work as expected, currently, is the apostrophes, on French. It may be something related to the french way of formatting text, because I do not have any problem making the script display file names with apostrophes, in pt-pt… Also this is such a tiny “missing feature” that I’ve not though about it for about 1 month… This is one of the tiny additions that antiX implements to the default Window Manager that some people may not even use it and others find it extremely useful. I’m in the middle ground- it sometimes saves me a lot of time, opening files I recently closed (that’s why I implemented a recent files in FT10 too – if you need it, it’s right there, if you don’t need it, it’s no bloat, it’s just a few kb’s of bash code, right?)

                  PPC, I left that for you to do because its your idea and code, and not a subject I’m familiar with, and I see the code, but that’s about it.

                  My personal rule is never to use “problem” characters in filenames in any language.

                  But I’m just a simpleton in that regard. KIS is a good motto to live by, but I know, not everyone is willing. Kinda sounds like a Lean/Mean issue, huh?
