First off: I happen to be primarily using Fluxbox Radiant not IceWM. However I do need to use IceWM on some laptops due to Fluxbox problem on Chrome/Chromium not reacting to drop down menu items. So in general use I am not affected by what I am describing here as peculiarity, tested on a few Live sticks across a few laptops:
– It appears that after installation of Kodi (I am pretty sure I do not need to explain this fantastic multimedia software widely popular for streaming videos and a primary component of all those Android boxes connected to TV sets), Kodi is listed on ‘Other Desktops’ as WM (!), which might be a good idea for laptops dedicated to video streaming, such as TV channels, movies, etc., so antiX boots straight to Kodi for them.
– However this idea of treating Kodi as a desktop seems good, the unfortunate side effect in my testing is that IceWM seems to have disappeared from Desktops list, apparently replaced by Kodi. This is for me reminiscent of antiX 19 beta versions, where IceWM was gone under some circumstances…I do not suppose this behavior is intended…

::This sounds so odd, so I got curious and also installed Kodi with the package-installer and I have to confirm the weird behavior you described.
A temporary solution seems to be to reinstall desktop-session-antix. icewm then reappears under alternative desktops and Kodi has disappeared, though it is now under entertainment media.
No idea what happens to other installed desktops e.g. xfce when you reinstall desktop-session-antix .
I didn’t try it.November 21, 2019 at 9:35 am #29570Forum Admin

::What does the kodi desktop file in /usr/share/applications show?
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::With the forewarning that some side-effects may exist (although I haven’t yet identified any)
here’s how to fix the “Other Menus” output:sudo geany /usr/local/lib/desktop-session/desktop-session-update-wm-menusScroll to the raw_wm_list() function, line 204 or so, and delete this line
| grep -v "IceWM" \then save the edited file. Immediately after the change, you can
sudo /usr/local/lib/desktop-session/desktop-session-update-wm-menus --force
and then visit the desktop menu, navigate to the “Other Menus” flyout and confirm that all items are now correctly displayed.for followup:
I don’t know what motivated, or or perhaps necessitated, addition of that line
(along with the decision to pipe the output through sort() command).

::Another post, another frickin battle with the (WordFence addon? BuddyPress/bbPress settings?) ANTISPAM blocking.
This time, I was blocked repeatedly when simply attempting to correct a typo (changed “or or so” to “or so”)
The post was initially accepted but any MINOR, innocuous, edited version was rejected. The link in the initial post had been generated by clicking the LINK button
then filling the “link” and “description” fields within the forum popup.

::Fighting since 2 days with the forumsoftware if i want to post a link or would like to edit a post with a link, here too.
The link-button doesn’t work constantly and my usual reliable procedure with brackets and url doesn’t work at all anymore.
Otherwise I like the changes but links are a mess now.November 21, 2019 at 2:26 pm #29585Moderator

::@skidoo, deleting line 207 “| grep -v “IceWM” \” works here, little side effect,
the min-, rox- and space-entries are now double.November 22, 2019 at 12:46 am #29606Anonymous

I attempted to edit my earlier post and replace its content with that one, simple, line of text.
The result: spamblocked -
