I was able to set the “Screen blanking” in Control Center, but have not been able to find “suspend” options to set timer.

Looked in “IceWM preferences”, desktop defaults and other editing applications, searched online. The IceWM “Help” does not appear to produce a manual anymore.

If there is a way, where would this be? And could it be set to not lock the desktop?

      Thank you.

        Try
        locate suspend

        in a terminal I guess.

          We use pm-utils for suspend.
How about editing this file (as root) in /usr/local/bin/desktop-session-exit

          From, line 39
          sudo pm-suspend
          to something like this
          sudo sleep 60s; sudo pm-suspend

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

I’m not sure we have anything actually managing a “suspend after so many minutes of inactivity” feature. Timed based suspend typically requires some sort of daemon monitoring the situation.

Xscreensaver has been working on and off this past week, which is why I needed something else. It shows at startup, but doesn’t kick in all the time [MX and AntiX]. For years it’s run flawlessly.

              IceWM – installed (from Synaptic):

              xfce4-power-manager
              power manager for Xfce desktop

              and

              xfce4-power-manager-data
power manager for Xfce desktop, arch-indep file
              ———–

              Appears to work well…

Will it somehow end up conflicting with IceWM?

I don’t think they will conflict. IceWM doesn’t do much more than take care of window management and provide simple panel and menu.
