::Hi Caprea,
After purging Connman and cmst, I got it to work only once after several reboots. I rebooted more times and I can’t get it to keep the settings again.At this point the symlink is staying active over the reboots but ceni is losing its settings with every reboot. I tried reboot and cold boot.
Attached are my steps. I hope they help.
I know it is very detailed but I was hoping I could get it working and the document could be a tech-tip document for others. Oh, well.
I am a newbie with AntiX and I am still learning.
Thanks for your help on this, Caprea.
🙂

::Also, this is a fresh install of AntiX 19.1
I haven’t done a full sudo apt dist-upgrade yet since it takes a long time to update.
Would that make a difference if I did a dist-upgrade? Have any of these ceni files been updated since December 23rd?
Just a thought
Thanks

::Hi Cojos,
Which version of AntiX are you using? version 19.1 stable full 32 bit? (AntiX-19.1_386-full.iso?)
Are you able to connect to wifi or is it giving you error messages?
Thanks for posting

::Hi gf,
Sorry I haven’t replied earlier. Forgot password, tried wrong one too many times, had to go thru hassle of getting new one.With connman, I was able to duplicate the error messages you posted a while back. When you use live usb of antiX-19-32bit-full, be sure that you set correct time and timezone before going thru the steps I posted. I didn’t try to figure out why that it works but it does. Good luck.

::You are more advanced than I, or I am less lucky.
Still working my way through all the members efforts.

::That is a good point, I will review all the suggestions as they are all worthy of expanding knowledge,
Many thanks to everyone,

::Hi,
Yes, I started with 17 version, in which I was able to get my wifi going, then it failed, so I installed 19 into deeper water.

::Hi thank you for your help, Yes, now 19.1, not even a note of the error.
I did not use a usb, I down loaded to a disc and burn, which usually works well. However, reading the speed and success of a usb, I am about to give it a try,

Hi Semicynic, Thanks for getting back to me. That’s a very good point about my computer’s time being different from network time. You are right – it was different. My cmos battery may not be working properly.
I set the time manually to the current date and time for my local area and followed your steps of setting up connman through the command line but I still get the same errors:
Agent ReportError <mywifi>
connect-failed
Agent request cancelled by ConnMan
Error /net/connman/service/<mywifi>: Operation Abortedwhere <mywifi> is the long name for my network starting with “wifi_000e252…”
Thanks again for your help.
🙂

::Hello again Semicynic,
The attached document has the command lines I used to try to get connman working after I set the time and date.
Please let me know if I did any of the steps incorrectly.
Thanks

::Hello G,
So, I tried your methodology for Connman, and very sadly, this is beyond my ability and did not clearly relate to what I could see on my Connman page.
Thank you G, I think I am in the same clueless group as the previous respondent.

::Hello Members,

One little further problem it could not recognise my password, after installing 3 further times, still no luck.
I give up guys, thanks for your help.

::Hi Cojos,
I am saddened by your last comment. Please don’t give up. There isn’t a solution to the 32-bit wireless problem yet. In this forum thread, we have been exploring different options but it is not fixed yet.
I have a 32 bit notebook and it sounds like you have a 32-bit system too. It is really helpful if you and I stay here and keep trying. That is the only way that the 32 -bit solutions happen – it is when there are people with 32 -bit hardware are willing to go through the aggravation of testing and reinstalling.Will you continue with me to help the programmers resolve this issue? It will mean re-installing often and things not working. I don’t know if that is your “main system” or if the 32-bit computer is a secondary system for you. Please consider staying here and posting things you try, the errors you get, the steps you took, so that I can try them too. Even if you post the same errors, perhaps the steps you took can clarify for the programmers what the issue is.
I am just a regular user, like you. This is a great way that we can contribute to this wonderful distro and help make it better. I am not a programmer but in this case, I have the right hardware.
Please stay
Thanks
GNote: the responses on the forums may be delayed as most Linux programmers are volunteers and they often have other personal commitments that can prevent them from answering promptly. Please have patience.

::Hi to all, before giving up, I did on my wifi Card but not on the distro.
Would it be possible to try a USB wifi adapter and see if that will connect properly.I was going crazy trying to get my WIFI working again in vers 19. In vers 17 it worked perfectly.
I spent hours searching trying proposals and looking for differences between 17 setup and 19.I connected an external USB WIFI adapter. Wifi worked immediately. Traveling through Asia with that
appendage seemed like asking for a problem so I then changed the Bluetooth/WIFI card in my netbook.Wifi immediately worked and has done since without further issues.
Maybe worth trying especially if access to the card is not too difficult.I put no blame on Antix devs. Hardware is very varied and driver issues complicated to debug.
This is a very frustrating issue and unfortunately chasing away users who are otherwise very happy with Antix. -
