I’m using IceWM. I used the “User Language” utility.
Changed the language -> English US -> rebooted as I prompted -> No effect.
Again “User Language” -> “Translate menus” -> I asked and entered my pwd -> nothing changed.
Additional reboot didn’t help either. I’m still having Greek menus.I also tried the “Debian” traditional method:
(as root) “dpkg-reconfigure locales” and choosing Eng US, and probably regenerating cash with something like “update-locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8”
This time, the menus were empty (no text).Any hints? 🙂

::Hi Thalassius,
Strange, never had an issue with language/multi up to now. before digging further, what is in etc default, for US English it should look like below.# File generated by update-locale
LANG=en_EN_US.UTF-8in a hidden file in home
/home/yourusername/.config/user-dirs.locale
change to en_EN_USI think the latter setting may be the missing one, unsure if more is needed

::“User Language” utility.
1. Change Language to en_US
2. Change Formats to English United States
3. Click Translate Menus
4. RebootThis doesn’t seem to change the rox pinboard localisation nor the toolbar though

::Ouch, I assumed
I’m using IceWM. I used the “User Language” utility meant it had somehow not worked.
and looked for possible errors.No matter another lesson learned..
The toolbar is populated with the entrys from menu applications or personal. Looks like it
would need manualy repopulating with chosen items in the new or changed language. My desktop is at present in
German, I still have english in menu bar from original setup.
That stays same when switching between German English and Spanish.- This reply was modified 1 year, 1 month ago by ModdIt.

::The easiest ‘method’ is just to copy the files in /usr/share/antiX/localisation/$locale to the correct place in the user’s home directory

::@anticapitalista, thanks for tip on locale, will check out next days.
Up to now nobody here seemed bothered enough to complain , the icons
and position are very quickly familiar but good to know. Maybe useful
when Ukranian refugees arrive, that will be very soon.
