Sorry for publishing in English, but when I translate this to Portuguese the commands also get translated, so please forgive me for this.

            General instructions:
            0. Check if cups is running (sysvinit)
            service cups status
Restart cups (even if properly running)

            sudo service cups stop
            sudo service cups start

            1. Turn the printer on (don’t connect yet).
            2. Once the printer is on, connect the printer to the USB port of the computer.
            3. Go to Control Centre > Hardare > Print Settings.
            4. Click the “Plus” icon and install the generic printer with USB connection. Follow the steps

If an HP printer, install hplip-gui.
            sudo apt install hplip-gui
            1. Install the printer as generic USB with hplip-gui.
            2. Try printing a test page.

If the printer doesn’t work after installation, then
            0. Turn off the printer, disconnect, turn back on the printer, connect again.
            1. Go to Control Centre > Hardware > Print Settings
            2. Right click on the problematic printer, go to properties and try printing a test page.
If the test page doesn’t print or an error is reported, remove the printer by:
            2. Select all printers (in case there are more than one erroneous configuration) and remove them one by one (right-click > Remove).

            For HP printers:
Second try for installing the HP printer with hp-setup (after removing the printer configuration).
            1. (with the printer still on and connected) Open a terminal window and run
            hp-setup -g
(the -g stands for print extra debugging information), to share here in the forum if there is a problem).
            2. Follow the steps and Accept the license agreement.
            3. If the plugin fails to install, run the plugin installer in terminal (with debug)
            hp-plugin -g
(Note: a root password pop-up will be requested at some point during the installation, so give it your root password).
            4. If there still is a “key server error” and the hp-plugin doesn’t download and install, please share the terminal output of the command above.
            5. in the final step you can print a test page. This might fail, even though everything is OK (just try to print another, or use the same test page printing function with the program Print Settings).

              EDIT:
It seems the gpg key server is wrong in this version of hplip. Open in terminal the file
              sudo geany /usr/share/hplip/base/validation.py
and replace the “pgp.mit.edu” gpg server entry with “keyserver.ubuntu.com”
              Save and try again

                Hplip e hplip-gui

                Olá Xecure,

                Eu agradeço por você responder.

for publishing in English, but when I translate this to Portuguese the commands also get translated, so please forgive me for this.

                marcos@antix1:~
                $ service cups status
[FAIL] cupsd is not running … failed!
                marcos@antix1:~
                $ sudo service cups stop
[ ok ] Stopping Common Unix Printing System: cupsd.
                marcos@antix1:~
                $ sudo service cups start
[ ok ] Starting Common Unix Printing System: cupsd.
                marcos@antix1:~

                marcos@antix1:~
                $ service cups status
[ ok ] cupsd is running.
                marcos@antix1:~
                $
