      Hallo,
I have an Epson scanner (Epson Perfection V550 Photo) but I can’t get iscan installed.
Tried everything to get iscan working, but it doesn’t work.
      Please provide a detailed explanation.
Thank you very much for the help and thoughts.
      Greetings,

You can install the deb file > https://support.epson.net/linux/en/iscan_c.php?version=2.30.4

You can also try Menu > Applications > Graphics > Document Scanner

The deb files for epson scanners are a bit tricky sometimes.
          Please download from here
          http://support.epson.net/linux/en/epsonscan2.php
Go to the download folder and extract the epsonscan2-bundle-6.7.42.0.x86_64.deb.tar.gz,-from terminal-
          cd Downloads
          sudo tar -xzf '/home/helga/TESTSCANNER/epsonscan2-bundle-6.7.42.0.x86_64.deb.tar.gz'

Now you have a epsonscan2-bundle-6.7.42.0.x86_64.deb folder in Downloads.
Click on this folder. There’s a core folder in it. Click on it.
Now you see the epsonscan2_6.7.42.0-1_amd64.deb file, which can be installed.

          Open a terminal and type
          sudo apt install
Press the space key once. Now drag and drop the epsonscan2_6.7.42.0-1_amd64.deb onto the terminal with your mouse and press enter key afterwards.
I hope the driver works for you.If you are using 32bit you have to change the commands accordingly.

This issue for the Epson V500 scanner has come up before. You have the V550 model, but it might still be worth taking a look at this link if the above doesn’t work for you:
            https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/install-an-epson-perfection-v500-scanner-others-on-antix19-4-core/

The tar bundle to download seems different for the V550 compared to the V500, but the steps involved for installing the ‘core’, ‘data’, and ‘plugins’ might be the same …

@PPC – thanks for the alert – spam deleted (and your warning post).

                Any luck installing the V550?
