so perhaps you shouldn’t be angry )))))thanks….
I realized that I need full and base for happiness.

::19.3 Full and Base iso do not go to desktop the boot finishes at a username prompt and password prompt with the instruction to enter as root and enter “cli-installer”, not exactly what I wanted. 19.2 iso does go to desktop as you would expect a live usb to do.
I don’t know if you want to find the reason, but maybe this will help others.
TWO big changes from antiX 19.2 to 19.3 (not counting the other software updates):
– Updated frimware. The new firmware packages may have some regressions for intel and amd graphics for older systems, so this may be the reason for older systems not to boot.
– Updated kernel. Though it tries to aim for a broader amount of machines supported, maybe the kernel has some regressions for your particular machine. If your machine is less than 5 years old, better use 4.19 kernel version.
If your machine is very old, install a previous version and update whatever you need. Maybe you even need to use one of the 4.4 kerbel versions.Anyway, if 19.2 works for you, install and update it. Your system will be almost the same as installing from 19.3, so nothing to worry then.

Thank you for the information, there is certainly an interest.
But some more things are still unclear.
Are these versions with the 4.19. kernel or 4.9. kernel ?
Did you check the md5sum for both downloads, Full and Base ?October 26, 2020 at 4:41 pm #43826Member

yes

wget https://mirrors.evowise.com/mxlinux-iso/ANTIX/Final/antiX-19/4.19_kernel/antiX-19.3_x64-full.iso
wget ftp://ftp.debian.ru/mirrors/MX-Linux/MX-ISOs/ANTIX/Final/antiX-19/antiX-19.3_x64-base.iso
right before opening the X it freezes.
before that, everything is loaded .it looks like that base I didn’t download it from there

::Thanks.
So the Full version is with the newer 4.19-kernel
and the Base version is not.Your new hardware probably needs the 4.19.-kernel.

::antiX with runit – leaner and meaner.
yes.
I tried it.
it runs a little faster.
I read that this is some kind of innovation in initialization.
I also wonder why icewm is the default ? is it that good?- This reply was modified 2 years, 6 months ago by ThakurMsh.

::I have an issue with installing on stupid TV’s/hdmi.
When I boot the ISO everything becomes microscopic in size. I’ve battled my way to randr /control settings with a magnifier on earlier versions but sheesh. Any easy way to boot the thing ? F7 or safe vid ? I just dl’d 19 latest and ran into the same issues but now with a 32″ stupid tv/monitor.
Is their an easy answer ?October 28, 2020 at 4:23 pm #43949Member

::Francisco in another post figured out a way:
After some investigation, I got an elegant and smooth solution for this topic, using “xrandr”, already installed in antiX
For detailed information please see this thread:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=159064Use xrandr to scale your desktop.
1. Open a terminal and as a regular user run:
xrandrand identify current resolution (marked with *) and display ID to use in the following command:
2. Run xrandr with parameters for your display and adapter. Change parameters accordingly:
xrandr --output HDMI-3 --mode "3840x2160" --scale "0.5x0.5"3. Finally I just changed using Menu:Applications -> preferences -> Font size DPI to 128 dpi.
Then I have a very good desktop in my 4K display for a Multimedia celeron Antix Box
Please check in your environment and if you find this useful, please publish it in tips and tricks official thread.
Best Regards, Francisco
I have been thinking of building a simple script for it, where after selecting the resolution and scale and applying, I would save the command to startup so that your configuration would be loaded every time the system launches, instead of having to set it up each time. I will check the DPI script already in antiX and see if I can also add the scale option or if I need to create it separatly.
For now, after finding a good scale, add that command to the Control centre > Session > User Desktop Session > startup file and it should launch automatically after next reboot.

::It’s too damn small to see or do anything. I ran it a year or 2 back on a laptop and loved it….Script would surely work but the thing ought to offer it on bootup. I have zero issues with any other Debians. Sparky, MX, LMDE, Bunsen…etc etc…Parrot.

::You could try the version which uses the 4.19 kernel. Maybe that will work better.

Have you tried any F7 options?
